Just a reminder that we are planning on having the “What’s Your Favorite Book?” group this Thursday. Sorry for the late reminder.

Join other homeschooling children as they share their favorite stories . You will have 2-3 minutes to tell why you LOVE your book. You can dress in character or bring small props if you would like.

Don’t forget to bring your book!

We will be meeting at CBC in room #118 from 10:00-12:00 Thursday, December 7, 2017.

Greetings from Southern Wesleyan University.  My name is Chad Peters and I serve as the Vice President for Enrollment Management here at SWU.  Yes this is “marketing or advertising” email as I asked my secretary to pull a list of homeschool associations in our immediate region.  However, I hope your schedule allows you to take a few minutes to read this email and learn more about SWU and some of our unique programs.

For 111 years, Southern Wesleyan University has been providing a Christ-centered, student-focused learning community devoted to transforming lives by challenging students to be dedicated scholars and servant-leaders who impact the world for Christ.  We provide two great pathways for students looking at college options.

1)      Our Traditional Campus setting where students take classes on campus and take advantage of our vibrant community.  We believe learning should happen in the classroom, during student activities, on the athletic fields and in the residence halls.  Students will find faculty members dedicated to teaching and mentoring.

 2)      This past fall we launched the OneLife Christian Gap Year Program.  This is a different type of educational experience for students as they will earn 24 college credits while stepping outside of the classroom and into a 9-month experience.  Students will be immersed into a vibrant learning environment that includes traveling domestically and internationally.  This is truly a unique program that is hard to describe in a short paragraph.

Please note that the next fellowship is scheduled for Tuesday, December 5th. Historically we have had the meetings at 7:00 pm. Because I have had so many people ask about preparing transcripts and because evenings are a challenge for me (Claudia)  to be out of the house, we will be holding the meeting at 4:00 pm.
