ETIQUETTE CLASS/CRAFTS SUPPLIES NEEDED/BOOKS FOR SALE

3 POSTS IN ONE!!! SEE BELOW………………

Etiquette Class Update:

After some scheduling conflicts for many moms and logistics issues for me, I have decided to hold the etiquette class on Women’s Life days from 12:30-2:30.  We will have lunch together and then teaching time.  Class will be held in the Youth Center. Please let me know if anyone else would like to join the class. The cost is $40 per month but please speak to me privately if you have multiple children. Don’t let financial issues keep your child out of the class.  Hope to see everyone at Women’s Life!

Transcript Info for USC……………

I expect this to be the trend (see below) with more and more colleges. In light of that I can say that my preferred method of receiving transcripts is via email, in WORD or Excel. That way I can update them when needed. Thanks-Claudia

USC Application: Important Information

Dear Claudia,

The University of South Carolina admissions office has changed its high school transcript policy. Our primary reason for this is to encourage students to take greater ownership of the application process. We also expect this change will increase transparency in the process while reducing the administrative burden imposed on college counselors throughout the college application season.

High school seniors who complete the freshman application for the University of South Carolina are now required to self-report their high school academic record for grades 9-12. Additionally, they must upload an electronic copy of their high school transcript in JPG, PDF or Word formats. This may drive an increase in requests from your students for their transcripts, particularly near deadlines (October 15, November 15 and December 1).

We no longer require an official high school transcript during the preliminary application evaluation phase. If we need an official transcript, we will instruct the student to contact you about forwarding an official copy. In the meantime, please provide an electronic copy to each of your students who request one so they can complete their online application. We will continue to request official, final high school transcripts from your office after May 1, once we know which students have confirmed their plans to attend USC.

To help you and your students better understand the USC application process, we’ve prepared a How to Apply guide. You may download a PDF version at http://sc.edu/admissions/admissionspdfs/how_to_apply_guide.pdf. For questions about how students should self-report their transcripts online, watch this brief and informative video: http://youtu.be/kYji1WTs3i4 — and please share these links with your students.

Thanks for your help and let us know if you have any questions.

 Sincerely,

Office of Undergraduate Admissions

University of South Carolina

Labels/Box tops collection Info

Tyson Chicken Labels    http://projectaplus.tyson.com/

Clip and collect Tyson Project A+ labels from participating Tyson® product packages.  We will collect the labels and send them to Tyson Foods, and Tyson Foods will send our school a check.  Each label is worth 24¢!  Tyson does not have a website you can login to, however they have plenty of helpful information on their website.

 Box Tops for Education    http://www.boxtops4education.com/

Clip and collect your box tops and we will forward them to Box Tops for Education – each box top is worth 10¢.   You can sign up on the box top website for additional entry opportunities.  When you sign up, be sure to use Community Bible Church Christian Academy (zip code 29901) as your school.  Any additional box tops (digital or through special opportunities) will be assigned to your login and then will roll up to CBCCA.

Right now they have a fun game you can play – but you must be a registered user of the website to play.  90 people will win 5000 extra box tops for their school  –  that’s $500.00!!!  You can play 5 times each day through the end of September!  www.boxtops4education.com/savetheboxtops

Campbell Soup Labels    http://www.labelsforeducation.com/

With the Campbell Soup labels we collect, we are able to purchase merchandise from the Campbell Soup merchandise catalog.  We will collect the labels here and forward them to the company, but the website has additional offers that you can sign up for online.  Please go to the website, create a login, and add Community Bible Church as your school.

You can bring your labels to the church.  Our collection box is in the resource room of the Childrens Building.  Please spread the word to your family members and other church members.  I set a goal of $1000 on our Box Top website.  Lets see if we can pull together and reach it.  It would be great to have another end of the year field trip paid for!!!

If you have any questions at all, please contact me and I will be more than willing to help you.  I prefer texting and email as it is difficult for me to answer my phone during the day.  Just make sure to tell me who you are if you send me a text!!

Blessings,

Katrina Sheffield – Project Coordinator

Clemson Scholarship

Greetings,
I would like to bring a new scholarship opportunity to your attention that may interest members of your home school group.
The Lyceum Scholars Program offers four-year scholarships worth up to $10,000 to students who attend Clemson University, located in Clemson, South Carolina. Students in the program study the moral, political, and economic foundations of a free society. In addition to receiving a scholarship and taking one class together per semester, Lyceum Scholars are paired with a faculty mentor who guides their intellectual and moral development throughout their four years in the program.
What makes the Lyceum Scholars Program unique from other specialized programs at other universities is our commitment to presenting fundamental, timeless, and life-changing ideas. We believe the best education is one that develops every aspect of a person. Our program curriculum focuses not only on building students’ intellectual skills, but developing their moral character as well.
I encourage you to share this opportunity with any students who may be interested. More information can be found at www.clemson.edu/capitalism/lyceum. And do not hesitate to contact me with any questions.
