Hello Fellow Homeschoolers!
Like the “three R’s” (reading ‘riting and ‘rithmetic) that we concentrate on during school time, summer’s “three “R’s”, rest, regroup and reconsider, are of equal importance. After taking a time of rest, the leaders of The Homeschool Xchange are ready to regroup and reconsider the plans for our upcoming school year. THX (our clever acronym) is a local co-op conveniently located between Beaufort, Bluffton, Hilton Head and Savannah at Grace Coastal Church on Hwy 170.
We meet on Mondays from 9 – 12 noon. We are only one and a half years old and consequently, are experiencing growing pains. That’s why we are looking for your interest and input. We have experienced teachers who are willing to volunteer their time, a church that is willing to give us space and seed money to keep the cost of participation down. The only thing missing is you and your family!
Here is the tentative schedule so far – with your input, there is potential to make this co-op, a much needed entity in the Low Country, a success !
9 – 9:05 – Arrive and settle in
9:05 – 9:20 – “The Proverbial Way” – a gathering of all the students to learn from God’s Word
9:20 – 10:20 – Classes for preschool through high school and a special time where Mom’s gather together to exchange ideas, receive Christ-centered teaching and share some yummy snacks!
10:20 – 10:30 – Break and snack time for the students
10:30 – 11:15 – Classes for preschool – high school
11:15 – 12:00 – Classes for preschool – high school
12:00 – 12:15 – Closing & clean up
We already have teachers for the following classes:
Art
Gym
Logic and SAT prep for high school students
Science
Music
There is a low cost of $15 a month per student (discounts for multiple children) and the start date is September 17.
