Sadly, we are moving back to Hawaii this summer. We have explored our options to bring our large dog with us. We would love to bring him, but the price to bring him is egregious. Due to his size we have to use a third party to transport him to Hawaii.
We are now looking into the option of rehoming him. I would only be comfortable giving him to a family that we know personally or through another family. If you are interested in adopting him or know someone who might be interested, please feel free to call, text or email me. I have provided some information about our fur baby below.
Our 2-year-old dog, Stryker, is a 140 lb. neutered male Rhodesian Ridgeback. Ridgebacks are short haired dogs from South Africa, so they are used to hot weather and shed very little. They are also loyal dogs that are very willing to please their owner. He is wonderful with our kids and loves being with adults and children alike. He is very used to being crawled on and played with by children. He is a large dog, so he does need enough space as he is an inside dog. He also enjoys playing outside with the kids, going for runs, bike rides, and hikes. He is a wonderful companion that follows you from room to room just to lay at your feet. He is not a high energy dog, but he does enjoy playing and getting regular exercise. I really can’t say anything negative about him accept the fact that he is a large dog, so he needs space and he does eat quite a bit. He absolutely adores just being with people.
