Nature walks, picnics and fellowship

Hi, homeschooling families.

Who loves being in Nature? Walks, hikes, nature journaling, learning through nature more about God’s creation? Well this is for you.

My name is Regina Smith, member of CBC, CBCCA, and local classical conversations of Beaufort Community. Our family loves exploring nature, and what better way than to do it with friends. This year my family would like to invite you to join us once a month for Nature exploration and a picnic. I have planned to start at the end of this month (October through May: excluding December.

The location will be different each month and I have done my best to rotate between Beaufort/Bluffton, and at most an hour out.

The plan will be the last Friday of each month, meeting at the location at 10:00am; exploring and then picnic lunch together at noon.

Most of the selected locations will be FREE, except for those that are at a state park (free if you already own a State park pass)

Below you will find the dates and location

10/30: Hunting Island State park

11/20: Coastal Discovery Museum (Hilton Head) this is the 3rd Friday since last week is day after

Thanksgiving

1/29: Lake Warren State Park (Hampton, SC)

2/26 New River Linear Trail (Bluffton)

3/26 Caw Caw interpretive (Ravenel, SC)

4/30 Wetlands in Port Royal (hopefully bird nesting will have begun) end back at the Sands for our picnic

5/28 Blue Heron Nature Center (Ridgeland, SC)

My prayer is this will be a time to connect with other homeschooling families, encourage one another, and grow in our love for Gods’ amazing creation.

No worries if you can’t make each location, even if it’s just one of these, we would love to have you join.

Supplies to bring each time. Picnic lunch, water bottle, walking shoes, journal/pencil and an open mind to observe and learn

If you could email me with any of the dates you plan to attend, list number of persons along with your email address.

I’ll send a reminder email the Monday before, with additional details and where to meet park, ect. All locations should be stroller friendly. 🙂

Lastly, We should not have to have reservations for any of the locations. Rules: you will be responsible for your own family, a Reminder to leave the location better than we left, respectfulness, and any Covid regulations in place.

Many blessings

Regina ❤️
