House for sale

From Heather Smith –

Our house is for sale and is in need of some new owners to love it as much as we have! We are really selling this time, so please please share this listing! For anyone not familiar with the area, Jasmine Hall is a beautiful community just a short drive away from the air station but convenient to all of Beaufort and even Bluffton and Hilton Head. It’s also an hour away from Charleston and not much further than that from Savannah. It’s the perfect location for a family that wants a little more yard than the average subdivision affords. And it’s an affordable 4 bedroom home.

Classic Learning Test Prep Course at Holy Trinity

Sign-up for this course by January 20th, 2019

Please contact Jonathan Councell at jcouncell.htccs@gmail.com, or at 828-712-1203 if you:

  • would like to sign up for the prep course
  • would like more information about this preparatory course
  • have any questions about the CLT itself
  • would be interested in preparing for a future CLT course (for example, May 18th)
  • have a conflict with one of the Saturday dates but would still like to participate (discounts available)

The Classic Learning Test (CLT) is the new standard for college entrance exams and was developed as a better way to engage, assess, and admit the best students through a technology-enabled college entrance exam that allows for a personalized experience for both students and colleges.  While the SAT and ACT favor public school Common Core content—the CLT content is broader, more inclusive and representative of the experience of a classically educated student (for example, reading excerpts are not just informational but can also be drawn from the Great Texts, essays or poetry).

As a classical/home/private school education is focused on things beyond a simple test, preparation for the CLT can improve SAT and ACT test scores while still being an invigorating and challenging interaction with great texts, areas of abstract quantitative reasoning, and tutorial with master learners/teachers (for more information about how the CLT compares, please visit https://www.cltexam.com/comparison).  In addition, many scholarships are uniquely available to students who take the CLT entrance exam if applying to a number of nationally accredited liberal arts universities and honors colleges.  For a complete list of colleges and universities that consider the CLT for entrance and scholarship please visit https://www.cltexam.com/colleges.

Holy Trinity Classical Christian School is a CLT partner school and testing site for the upcoming March 2nd and May 18th test days (SAT is March 9th, and May 4th/ ACT is Feb 9th, April 13th).  Upper school instructors Mr. Councell and Mr. Tobin will be offering a five-week preparatory course that meets on three Saturday mornings (from 9am-12pm) on January 26th, February 9th, and February 23rd.  The cost for this course is at $300.00 per student with discounts available for student groups.  Limit is 10 students per session.

Note: Due to recent interest, while this course is ideally suited for 11th and 12th grade students, 9th and 10th Grade students that are interested in taking the CLT10 (which is free to take) would also benefit. The CLT10 test date is April 11th.
