Notes from Amy Kuehl: If you would like to prepare a meal for Frontlines:
Please prepare a meal for 60-70 people (main dish, side(s), dessert). Your meal should be dropped off in the Youth Building kitchen (the building behind the pavilion) at 5:30 PM. We provide plates, napkins, utensils, serving utensils, cups and drinks. We serve the meal from 6:00-6:45 PM. You will not need to stay and serve the meal unless you would like to. The building will not normally be open before 5:30 PM.
Note: If you would like to use the kitchen beforehand, please call Zach to set up a time for it to be opened for you. We need to know ahead of time (preferably Monday or Tuesday) if you would like the building open before 5:30 PM.
There is a weekly budget of $150.00. You can give your receipt to Zach or Caren in the front office for reimbursement.
Note: Please include your first and last name, address and phone number on the receipt and mark the top as Frontlines Meal.
You may cook at your own home or at the Youth building (see above note about opening the building). You can cook by yourself or with a friend and bring the food to the youth building by 5:30 PM so that everything can be set up to be served by 6 PM. If you have any questions please call or text Amy at (757) 581-3219.
Hey Friends, If you have questions about homeschooling, teaching reading or if you have a friend new to homeschooling, I would love to invite you to my home Tuesday, July 18 at 6:30. I will be going over what a typical day should look like for preschoolers, kindergarteners and first graders and then available to answer other questions about homeschooling. Please arrange your own childcare for this event. IF you would like the info but cannot come Tuesday evening and/or need to bring your kids, I am available on Wednesday 10-12. I have arranged a sitter to be here in my home to help us with those who cannot get childcare for the Tuesday night event. Of course space is limited for the Wed. with children. PLEASE text and let me know if you would like to attend either event. Thanks, Evelyn Owens 843-812-1828
Are you looking for a place to plug in where you can find support, encouragement, instruction, and accountability in the homeschooling of your 4-year-old to 6th grader?
CBC Elementary Co-op might be the place for you! We meet Tuesday mornings from 9:00 to noon starting August 22nd for 28 weeks. The morning begins with group assembly and recitation and then breaks out into grade-level classes with enriching lessons in Language Arts, History, Science and Art.
This morning can be used as supplemental enrichment alongside your current curriculum or you can follow along with the curriculums that we use in class.
Hey – Anyone who has borrowed Saxon math books from me in the past – if you could return them to me I would appreciate it. I am especially looking for my 87 books. You could leave them at the church with my name on it and I can pick up. Thanks!
I have a Trail Life uniform for a young man who might be in need of one. My son only used it a few times before Covid hit and then he grew up! Here are the uniform sizes:
Dark Green Pants/transferrable to shorts with Belt- Size: Youth X-large
Shirt- Size: Small and compliments the pants
Trail Life Hat
(When we bought these, the sizes seemed a bit odd in relation to pants vs. shirts.)
Co-Op Members – You do not need to purchase everything on this list – only things applicable to the classes your student is taking.
As with all curriculum, if you can borrow it or if it is available to download as a free pdf… these are options that are available to you. This is just a list for your information. I also need to let you all know that the literature selections are not MUST buys.
Some textbooks and consumables have to be purchased… but the literature selections are often available if you just post it on the blog. They will probably also be very inexpensive to buy used.
If you submitted a registration for Co-Op you should have a Family Application in your inbox. These are due back by May 19th. If you have any questions about them, please text/call Charlotte Cushman at 843-592-1502.
If you submitted a registration and DID NOT get an application, please contact me.
Final day for registration is May 12th. Initial registration does not constitute acceptance in Co-Op. After initial registration, there is an application process. All Co-Op students must submit applications and agree to statement of faith and rules of conduct. Students may be denied admission with or without any reason at the discretion of Community Bible Church.
