Charleston Southern is excited to be hosting Dr. Don Thomas at 3 p.m. this Friday, August 31st! He had the dream to be an astronaut since he was six years old! Students of all ages are invited to come hear his stories from space at this FREE event. RSVP and more details here.
A veteran of four Space Shuttle flights, Dr. Don Thomas has logged more than 1,040 hours in space. He will share his experience of what it is like to live and work in space. He will also discuss NASA’s newest rocket, the Space Launch System, and some future missions NASA hopes to do with these rockets, such as sending astronauts to Mars.
I don’t want to give too much away, but if you want to hear a quick story, check out this video from the Kennedy Space Center.
