Kids Life Ideas

Hey CBC Friends,

Our KidsLife program will be starting again very soon. I would like for us to offer a history class for the 2nd through 4th graders this year.Girl Swinging Upside Down on a Swing

I have some ideas for anyone who might be interested in teaching the class.

I welcome any ideas from those of you who might be interested in leading or helping in a class.  Several classes are already in place.

Email me (cbcevelyn@gmail.com) or feel free to call me at 521-0626 to discuss any ideas or questions.

Thanks,
Evelyn Owens

Maxwell Conference September 25th

From Phillips Family –maxwell family
Dear Fellow Home Educators~

Are you looking forward to the new school year?  Do you feel the need to be energized in your homeschool journey?  Would you love to begin each day with joy and anticipation?

Come for an evening of encouragement and equipping as Mr. & Mrs. Steve Maxwell and family of Titus2.com share practical, yet life-changing, truths from God’s Word in their various NEW sessions.  Mr. & Mrs. Maxwell, homeschooling parents since 1985 and authors of over a dozen books, have successfully raised their eight children to adulthood without the heartbreak of rebellion.  Our family has been blessed by their Biblical teaching on homeschooling and family life.  Please join us for this FREE conference on Thursday, September 25th from 5:00 to 9:00 P.M. at The Fellowship Assembly of God (5224 Augusta Road; Savannah, GA 31408).  For more information, view the attached flyer.  If you would like to attend, please call (540-798-2165) or email (basmile4jesus@gmail.com) us.

We would love to share this information with the homeschool families in your group.  May you please forward this information to your members and post it on your web site and Facebook account?  I attached the Maxwell’s family picture and a brief overview of the conference to help with publicity.  I would be grateful if you could let me know if you are able to help!

If you desire to learn answers to questions such as: How can I instill in my children a heart for Jesus?, How do I encourage my children to be motivated to be used of the Lord in whatever situation they are in?, Is it possible for me to accomplish all that is necessary in each day?, How can I teach my children to be productive?; then you definitely do not want to miss this opportunity.

“As for God, his way is perfect” (Psalm 18:30).

May the Lord richly bless each of you!

All for Jesus~

cardboard tubesPlease start saving the cardboard tubing from Birthday and Christmas wrapping paper rolls for VBS next year.  Even paper towel and Syran wrap tubing would work. The longer the tubing the better. :0) We will send out another announcement after Christmas as to where you can bring them to drop them off.

Thanks so much.

Don’t forget meeting at 10 am Monday at St. Helena Library

Maria Benac, St. Helena Library manager, has invited all interested homeschoolers to an informational, idea generating, new school year programming meeting. st helena library

This beautiful facility is full of resources just waiting to be used. Although it is a bit further than the downtown library, it is very available for homeschoolers (and the whole community).

Maria is open to programming ideas and ways the library can help you with homeschooling!

The St. Helena branch has a full Apple lab that is conducive to classes on producing videos and commercials as well as robotics programs.

Please come on July 28th @ 10 am  to 6355 Jonathan Francis Senior Road, St. Helena, SC 29920

And another thought…. maybe if we use this library it will give us an opportunity to reach out to others in the St. Helena community.

Etiquette Class Update

From Cindy Malphrus –

I have had such a huge response to the Etiquette class offering that I am considering offering it on 2 different days in order to accommodate everyone.

I have been approved by the church to hold my classes in the youth building on Tuesdays from 12:30-2:30 folowing Mrs Stephanie Fowler’s class. Also- I will offer a Thursday morning class from 10:30-12:30, before Stephanie’s Thursday afternoon class. We will have food at both classes.

Please RESPOND and let me know which day you prefer. The cost will be $40 per month per child for the first and $30 for the second child.

I will be scheduling a parent meeting in August and the classes will begin Tuesday, Sep 2nd.  I will update everyone on the parent meeting date and time.

Please pass the word about this class! There are a lot of unsaved families who homeschool! We will be going through the fruit of the Spirit and how our manners are clear evidence of fruit in our lives! And- with any luck, we will be Shagging like pros!   Cindy Malphrus cindyemalphrus@gmail.com
