Would you consider helping with an adoption need?

From Charlotte Cushman –

http://3orphans.com/September 034

Can you help our friends the Ruppels? They are in the final push for the adoption of another three Ethiopian children.  They are expecting to bring them home in late August. Two of these children are deaf. One of the children is about to age out of the orphanage.

Jennie & Will are a homeschooling family and are members of Praise Assembly. I have known them for about three years. Will you please listen to this wonderful testimony and ask the Lord if He wants you to be a part of this work? Not all of us can adopt… but we can help by helping those who can. Will you join me?

If 100 of us gave $40.00 they would be at the $4,000 they need.

If anyone knows of a 12-15 passenger van in great shape for a reasonable price – they are also praying for the Lord to provide this for them as well.

PLEASE SHARE this on your Facebook wall or email to friends who have a heart for missions and ask them to please help.

Can you help? Co-director & other help needed for Presidential Physical Fitness

From Terry Beach –
Presidential Physical Fitness Program for 2013:
I need help this year with Presidential Physical Fitness Challenge. I was wondering if there is anyone who would like to CO-direct the program. I can do the computer work. I just need someone who could be there if for some reason I am not able to be there to set up, break down. I also need to find helpers and leader for the program and helping each time, making sure I have enough help to cover our groups. There maybe sometimes when I cannot be there but hopefully not to many, so you will need to cover for that as well. I need to be able to count on you each time we meet and for planing purposes.  It is a blessing to see the kids improve through the year. Please let me know as quickly as possible if you are interested in helping me.
Thanks,
Terry Beach

Free Books & A Need For Furniture

From Laura –

Someone dropped off a box of public school elementary curriculum including flash cards at the church door. It is here at the reception desk free to any one who would like it. It will be here today and tomorrow.

Also, a family walked in and they are in need of furniture, beds, linens, anything, there is not a need for clothes. You may call me (Laura) at the church if you have anything you can give.

FYI

Remember that Doug Brannon and Mike Anthony were the authors of Bill H3478 – http://www.hslda.org/elert/archive/2013/02/20130207114745.asp. They are the ones who wanted to do away with the third option in South Carolina’s homeschooling law that caused a huge uproar earlier this year. I am sure that neither of these two candidates are on my list for the next SC Education Chief.

Doug Brannon stated, “The best way to improve education in South Carolina is not by tearing the system that we have down, but by supporting teachers and educators to do what they’re trained to do and to properly fund education.”

I think this clearly shows that he does not have the best interest of the children in mind, but in protecting a bureaucracy that needs to change. Whether you are a homeschooler or not, it should be plain that the establishment has become too cumbersome to work effectively. We need a radical overhaul.
