Does your student want to play fall sports with a local school?

Because of the  Amended Charter School Act Provision, homeschooled, charter and Governor School students may participate in extracurricular activities in their school district.

Not every student will want to take advantage of this program, but we are grateful that homeschooled students now have this opportunity. Many CBCCA students participated last year and had a great experience. We hope that our homeschooled students will be both a blessing and an asset to the local schools’ athletic programs.

Please click here to read how the law affects homeschoolers.

Football, swimming, volleyball, competitive cheerleading, girls tennis, girls golf and cross country all have a first practice date of August 2nd.

According to the  Homeschool Eligibility Request Process you need to submit your request to the district Request(s) received at the District Educational Service Center from the parent/guardian ten (10) days prior to tryouts/practice of a requested sport. Application serves as notice of a student’s intent to participate. The district is requiring that this information is turned in (10) ten days before the first practice in order to confirm each student’s eligibility. First practice dates for the 2013-2014 school year for high school sports in SC are available here: Tenative Start Dates and 2013-2014 Practice Schedule.

4th of July Celebration Cancelled :(

http://www.peacefulway.org/

From Peaceful Way –

It is with sincere regret that we must inform you that we will be forced to cancel our celebration on July 4th.  As you all know, we have had record amounts of rain this year, and there is no indication that it will be letting up!  Even if it doesn’t rain, the fields have become too wet to accommodate parking and other activities.

We hope this early notice will give you time to make other plans to celebrate the 4th of July and we hope that you will join us at Peaceful Way for another event in the future.  You can “like”Bostic Law Firm or Peaceful Way Farm on facebook as an added way of staying updated on events.

Again, we regret this cancellation and will try to keep you informed of the next event when the weather allows!

Trinity Classical Academy is a co-op cottage school that was established in 2005.  We have been serving Lowcountry families with a two-day a week school that provides a full Christian and Classical curriculum. On Tuesdays and Fridays our children engage in a nurturing, traditional classroom setting. The rest of the week they continue to grow and learn within the cherished institution of their families. Trinity Classical Academy exists to assist parents in the God-given privilege of educating their children and has helped educate hundreds of children in this community over the years.

With 2012-13 in our rear-view mirror, we are entering a time of prayer and preparation for the upcoming school year.  Many of the teachers and curriculum have been decided already, but of course things can change between now and the beginning of the new year. We are prayerful at this time for our teachers, returning families, and new families. Trinity is a special school and we strive to keep it rigorous and challenging for our students within the boundaries of a Christ–centered community. By His grace we have been able to keep our tuition the same for the last 4 years with base being $2500 with the addition of upper level math an additional $400.

We invite you to partner with us at Trinity Classical Academy for the 2013-2014 school year. Please feel free to call or e-mail us with any questions. Applications are available at trinityclassicalacademy.org.  May God grant you His wisdom as you seek to follow Him in raising your children for His glory.

Our Stand on Christian Education

We are a Christian school, focused on teaching all subjects with a Biblical foundation and worldview. We believe that God’s Word is the supreme authority and the source of all truth. Our goal is to build leaders to impact our culture for the glory of Christ, the growth of His church, and the good of mankind.

Have a Baby Boomerang Bottle? We would love to have it back!

From Terry Beach –

The Beaufort Women’s Center would like to thank you for supporting our Baby Bottle Boomerang Program at Community Bible Church. We handed out over 600 baby bottles on Mother’s Day. We have received back 133 bottles so far filled with donations totaling a little over $2000. Your generosity will make a huge difference in the lives of young women and their babies. Please continue your efforts in filling up those remaining baby bottles. Just think how much more it will help if all of the baby bottles were returned. You may drop the baby bottles off at the CBC front office or you can come by the Beaufort Women’s Center. Please indicate that it is from the Community Bible Church’s campaign. If you do not plan on filling up your baby bottle, please return it so we can hand it out at other churches.

Thank you,
