Keynote
Our Keynote is Steve Demme of Building Faith Families and the author and founder of Math-U-See. Steve and his wife Sandra have been married for 32 years. They have been blessed with
four sons: Isaac, Ethan, Joseph, and Johnny. With God’s help, they have all been home educated.
Steve addresses a variety of topics at homeschool conferences to encourage parents in their God-given responsibilities of raising and training their children for His glory.
As a former math teacher who has taught at all levels of math in public, private, and Christian schools, Steve is also the author and founder of Math-U-See. He has served in full or part time pastoral ministry for many years after graduating from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and has served on the boards of Joni and Friends, Christian Freedom International, and Lifework Forum.
Other Workshops
We will continue to offer the Men’s Track Workshops geared specifically for dads. These workshops will be covering topics such as leadership, being the family principal, prayer and teaching your children. We also have a wonderful line up of Ladies’ Workshops giving practical how-to advice and encouragement for women. Vendor favorites will be back along with new vendor workshops designed to inspire. Here is our most current Workshop Schedule !
Another Featured Speaker, Tim Bryant
After our daughter Ellie passed away just after Christmas this past year, my good friend Denise invited me to join her at a 15 week class, Transformed by Truth in Charleston at Lowcountry Biblical Counseling Center. I can’t tell you how much the teaching ministered to my heart, as Tim Bryant walked through topics such as Unity in Conflict, Grief, Suffering and Gaining a Transforming View of Christ. What makes LBCC different is that the approach is strictly from the Bible, stripped from the philosophy of our day.
We are so pleased that Tim Bryant will be coming to CHEC as a featured speaker this year. I know that you will find his teaching very helpful and applicable as you seek to grow as moms, dads and homeschoolers.
High School Constitution Class Sat – Included with your CHEC Registration!
Bob Menges is teaching this five-part course on Saturday. It is open to high school students and adults and is included for high school students and adults with your family registration.
These five sessions will lay the groundwork for looking at government through the lens of the Bible and how we can bring glory to God as we pursue an understanding of our nation’s history from a Biblical Worldview. We will trace the providential hand of God from the time of the Reformation up through the ratification of the United States Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
In order for us to develop our Christian Worldview of government and our understanding of the linkage of that worldview to our government, it is imperative for us to understand the truth about history and make the Biblical connection to the truths about limited government under the Rule of Law (United States Constitution). These sessions are not simply another talk or class about history and government; this is about developing an in-depth understanding of this subject from a Biblical Worldview in order to bring Glory to God with our thoughts and actions concerning our government.”
Sessions
Session # 1 Biblical Worldview of Government – Purpose of government?
Session # 2 Historical Background of the United States Constitution
Session # 3 Historical Background of the United States Constitution
Session # 4 Failure of the Articles of Confederation
Session # 5 United States Constitution

What Can I Sell at CHEC?
Our focus is on curriculum, curriculum, curriculum. In addition, readers of all kinds, math manipulatives, science stuff and educational supplemental materials are a must! Bibles, devotionals and educational aids are also welcome.
Keep in mind this not a yard sale, but a place to sell the kinds of things YOU will be looking for to use in your own homeschool next year!
At CHEC our mission is to encourage all homeschoolers, but keep in mind we are a Christian homeschooling group. We will not be able to sell items that conflict with our Christian values. Please use discretion.
What are the Selling Instructions?
After you are registered as a seller, books and materials must be properly labeled. We have two methods for labeling items:
Bar Coding Labeling

Manual Labeling
