Guitar Lessons Available
Hi everyone!
Several people have asked about me teaching their children to play the guitar, so I have decided to give lessons. For those who are interested in guitar lessons, here is some information. Weekly group lessons will be at my house in Okatie, on Tuesdays at 2 pm. Lessons are $10 a week for the first student and $5 a week for each additional child in the same family. Lessons will be an hour long and will also include some music theory. Each student needs a guitar; it is possible for 2 to share, but it would be best if each had their own. It need not be an expensive guitar, but remember that if you decide to invest in a nicer one, it will be well worth it.. Please confirm if you are interested. I hope to start on Tuesday, April 19. This is in 4 weeks. For those who are interested, let me know if this works for you, and if you have any questions!. My email is emilybennett@my.tcl.edu.
Thanks!

Side By Side Concert April 10th
From Charlotte –
As many of you know, my husband Chris plays in the Beaufort Orchestra as well as in our church orchestra. He started out playing trumpet in junior high and high school and then also played in various youth orchestras growing up before joining the Marine Corps and becoming a member of the Parris Island Marine Corps Band.
Playing with other musicians regularly helps young musicians grow musically. There are many budding musicians at our church including our daughter Talley.
Talley and Chris along with quite a few other talented kids from CBC will be performing at the “Side by Side Gala” on Sunday April 10th.
“Side by Side Gala” celebrates Beaufort Symphony Orchestra’s 30th year and features the Beaufort Symphony Orchestra and the 50-member Beaufort Youth Orchestra.
This very special collaboration with the orchestras together on stage will take place at Beaufort High School Performing Arts Center on Lady’s Island on Sunday, April 10 at 4:00 p.m.
The Youth Orchestra is responsible for helping to sell tickets for this event. If you are interested in coming out to support these kids, please give me a call or email me. You can get tickets from me or any other youth orchestra parent.
They are $25.00 for adults and $15.00 for kids.

Easter Day Fellowship at Old Sheldon Church Ruins
Hey all! Join us for another Easter day of fellowship at Old Sheldon Church Ruins. We’ll meet after the second service for a covered dish picnic, Easter egg hunt for the little ones, and a chance to make some new friends at the ruins. It’s so lovely this time of year!
What you need to bring: chairs or a picnic blanket; a covered dish to share and a dessert of some sort; drinks for your family; an Easter basket with at least a dozen eggs with non melting, non choking candy for each child who wants to participate; bug spray just in case; a camera; any friends you’d like to invite. We’ll have plates, napkins, utensils. We’ll have the resurrection eggs to use with the kids. If older kids would like to bring frisbees, corn hole, whatever…feel free. Please note that the closest bathroom is about 3 miles away at the Family Dollar at Gardens Corner. We’ll plan to eat at 1:45.
If it rains we will celebrate at our own homes 🙂 Pray for a cool sunny bug-free day! And prayerfully ask God who you might invite; an older couple whose children are grown, a new family in our church, military singles, etc….And feel free to forward this email
Directions to Old Sheldon Church:
Take Hwy 21 all the way out to the traffic circle at Gardens Corner. Go through the circle to the left which will put you on Hwy 17 going south. Be careful merging into traffic here, but stay in the right lane because you will take the first right, Old Sheldon Church Road. Go about a mile and you will see the ruins on the right. There is a field to park in across the street. It’s a very busy street, so HOLD CHILDREN’S HANDS as you cross to the ruins.
Looking forward to celebrating the resurrection of our Lord and Savior!!! If you have any questions, text Zoe Howard 843-271-7014 or Gaye McNair 843- 441-2084 or sgmcnair@gmail.com
