South Carolina TeenPact State Class

From Michele Norman:

Sign up by this Friday, November 30th for the best price of the season for the One Day (8-12 year olds) South Carolina TeenPact State Class!!

Dear Concerned Parents and Students,

The government doesn’t just impact adults. It impacts the whole family—teens and children alike. This means that young people (no matter how young) have just as much responsibility, and as much capability, to have a voice in their local government as do those old enough to vote. TeenPact’s One Day State Class for 8-12 year olds gives young people the tools and training to do just that—get involved to make a difference!

The One Day Class takes elements from our week-long government class for teenagers and condenses them into one action-packed, exciting day for elementary students. They will become Senators in a mock legislature where they discuss bills that they have written themselves, pray for their leaders during a prayer walk, watch a skit about the legislative process, and discover the South Carolina state capitol building by going on a scavenger hunt. These and many more hands-on, on-site activities  will help students understand their state government as well as the role of Christians in politics.

Taught by a caring staff team, this class is designed for parents and children to attend together, with no extra charge for the parent. The enthusiastic and encouraging atmosphere will make this a class that you won’t soon forget!

Please join us at the South Carolina State Capitol on April 19th or April 26th from 10am-4pm.  This month, we’re excited to offer the Founder’s Five discount.  All students that sign up for the One Day Class by November 30th will receive the early bird discount PLUS an additional $5 dollars off tuition in honor of TeenPact founder Tim Echols’ birthday!  Visit teenpact.com/SouthCarolina to learn more and register!

Sincerely,

Beth Baxa

P.S.

If you know someone who would love to attend the Four Day State Class consider giving them a gift certificate this Christmas! Sign up  ASAP as classes are filling up! See below.

GIVE THE GIFT OF LEADERSHIP

This year, we’re encouraging people to give the gift of leadership for Christmas by giving gift certificates toward TeenPact classes.  You can read more details at teenpact.com/store/giftcertificates; essentially, someone can now purchase a gift certificate to any part of the state classes, or can enter their own amount if they would prefer.  Once they make their purchase, they will receive a certificate via email to print and give as a gift.  This is another way to promote TeenPact to students, parents, grandparents, friends, etc.

Join us THIS Tuesday November 6th at 7pm for our 2nd Teacher Training this school year.  Mrs. Claudia Gay will be going over how to do Reports and Transcripts.  Please email her at cbcgay@gmail.com w/ any of your question ahead of time so she might be able to address them.  Also Melissa Carter, “Science Lady”, will be speaking for a few minutes on the Science Fair and Robotics Club.  This is especially important info for Middle School and up!  She will also have some FREE books at this meeting as she is moving soon and doesn’t want these books to move with her.
At 8pm we will be having a time of Q&A and Fellowship.  Please feel free to join us for this time even if you are not coming to the Teacher Training.
Please bring a potluck snack to share during our Fellowship.  I will be providing all the paper goods, coffee, and water.  Doors open at 6:45pm.  I will be doing something different and doing an “On Time Drawing” for those who are there by 7:05pm when we start.  There will be a prize to be won by one or two blessed moms!
If you have any questions about Tuesday night please Call or Text me at 843/575-5731 I may not be on the computer much tomorrow to answer via email.

Science Fair Information

From Melissa  Carter:

I spoke with Carolyn Bostick at Beaufort District Office this morning about robotics and science fairs for homeschoolers. We are still working out the logistics of the robotics clubs, but as for the science fairs, here is the protocol. If your child would like to participate in a science fair this year, they must go to the Beaufort District website and fill out the forms located under parents/charter/home.
These must be filled out except for the physical form and submitted to:
Carolyn Bostick at carolyn.bostick@beaufort.k12.sc.us

Children must participate in the age appropriate school that they are zoned for. We have had great praise from our judges in the past and I would encourage anyone who is interested to get a jump start now. Many of the upper level fairs are scheduled in February and March.

For more information concerning this post, contact Melissa Carter at renikcarter@yahoo.com

science POC needed for CBC

From: Melissa Carter

For those of you who have been at CBC for a period of time, you might
know me as the “science lady”. I have enjoyed and loved providing
science classes and opportunities for the homeschoolers of CBC for
many years, but God has other plans and I must pass the baton. So, if
you are interested in being the “science point of contact” for science
fairs and robotics, please email me renikcarter@yahoo.com or give me a call at 843-812-4438.
I have a lot of science resources that I would love to pass on to the
homeschoolers of CBC for classes or to be checked out. Thanks for your
time!
Praise be to God who made it all!!
Melissa Carter
