Clothing Swap!
From Zoe Howard:
Bring the gently used clothes your kids have outgrown and swap them out for what you need!
Drop off in the Atrium at CBC Beaufort – Wed, Oct 23 (Women’s Life morning)
Come back and ‘shop’ on the following Saturday morning (Oct 26) from 9-11am.
Children’s clothing in all sizes, shoes, jackets/coats, children’s books, toys (but please limit to 5, and no stuffed animals), maternity clothes, and baby gear is all welcome! Please check your items for stains, rips, broken zippers or anything else that would make them unusable. We want this swap to be a blessing to everyone participating! 🙂

From Monica Wilkinson:
Dear Homeschooling Families or families of those considering homeschooling,
the day.
I am happy to schedule another day for you to visit if October 15 is not convenient for you.
Here’s a the specifics of our Classical programs and times:
The Foundations program occurs from 9:00AM-12noon (K4-6th) followed by lunch and playground time outside.
We welcome you to come and see what Classical Conversations is all about and how our mornings together work! Please include with your RSVP the names/ages of your children. Your children are welcome to attend with you. We have a nursery available for 3 years and under. Please plan to bring lunch with you as this will enable you to speak with other CC moms in the program during our lunch hour and allow me an opportunity to answer your questions.
Families are welcome to join CC any time during the school year as long as there is class space available. You may visit www.classicalconversations.com for more specific information on the Foundations, Essentials, and Challenge programs.

Talking Books Services
From Tammy Waldron:
I didn’t get to mention at last night’s meeting about the Talking Books Services that is available through the SC State Library. I have been utilizing this service for about seven years now. For qualified applicants, the library will send a machine free of charge that the student can use to listen to books on audio. The machine has a feature that allows the student to regulate the speed of the reader, which makes it nice if they are following along in a hard copy. I have been able to find many of the books that I included in my curriculum through this service. They have a large selection of books. For dyslexia, the parent needs to have a MD’s signature for the application. My MD was so nice and had no problem signing for us. I will post more on a service for college textbooks in another post. Here is a link to the FAQ about Talking Books Services and then you can download the application:
