CBCCA Yearbook Family Page & Senior Section Deadline

Family Pages and Senior Sections are due Monday, April 4th.

If you have participated in the yearbook before just “Log into” Treering (Do not create a new account).

If you are planning to do a page please text Sue Cerrillo (712-249-1095) so that she can go ahead and start alphabetizing them and saving your page.

If you know for sure that you DO NOT want to do a page… please let us know that too so that we don’t have to follow up with you.

If you are a new family or have never participated in the yearbook you can “Create a new account” TreeRing.com. Just look for Community Bible Church Christian Academy (fully typed out).

Here are some examples of Family Pages.

You will see 2 pages when you sign into Treering (ie. page 1-2) Please design your family page on just ONE of these 2 pages. Include all the names of those in your family somewhere on the page. You can include a group shot or individual pics of your family. When you are done, we will then transfer your page over to the main yearbook for all to see and then we will remove it from your custom pages so you will have those back to add more photos that will only show in your personal yearbook.

For the senior families only:

You will see a full page spread when you sign in to Treering on your custom pages. (ie pg 1-2)

Your senior section will be designed on 1/2 of one page. (just 1/4 of the 2 page spread) this is so we can get 4 seniors on 2 pages.

You can complete the senior section and a family page at the same time.  These pages will then be copied over to the main yearbook for all to see and you will have your 2 free custom pages back to add more photos to that will only show in your personal yearbook.

Job Opportunity

Adam’s Farm was established by Adam Mentzer  in 2011 in Bloomingdale, Ga; he expanded to St. Helena Island approximately two years ago. Adam’s Farm grows a variety of vegetables, herbs, fruits, and flowers year round utilizing farming practices that reflect a respect for the earth and future generations. The produce and floral varieties are available for purchase on a seasonal basis to retail and wholesale customers.

Finding consistent, conscientious farm workers has been a challenge.  Community Bible Church was provided to me as a potential contact for assistance in connecting with individuals possessing a good work ethic and desire for employment.  As a small business owner Adam is looking for part time (under thirty hours/week), dedicated farm help. Generally the work week is Monday through Friday, but large orders/events may lead to requested work on select Saturdays.  There is flexibility regarding the hours scheduled for work, with an expectation that once scheduled -the time is adhered to.  Possessing access to reliable transportation and the ability to commute is necessary.

The general duties of farm workers will include, but are not limited to:

  • Planting – seeds and starters, weeding, harvesting and washing produce as necessary
  • Packing, filling and cross checking orders with accuracy
  • Loading and unloading trucks and trailers for delivery
  • Feeding and caring for animals-miniature donkeys, pigs, goats, turkeys and peacocks
  • Picking flowers and creating bouquets
  • Farm and equipment upkeep – cleaning, maintenance
  • Basic knowledge and application of  building skills

A delivery driver is also needed to deliver produce orders to restaurants in Hilton Head, Bluffton and Savannah,  Deliveries are made on Wednesday early evening and Thursday mornings. A driver is expected to provide his/her own automobile, have a clean driving record and be dependable.  The driver will be paid by the hour and for gas consumption on a per mile basis. Duties include cross checking the order for accuracy, carrying the order into the location, delivering the order statement, and returning the payment back to Adam.

Per Adam, compensation for a general farm worker begins at $13.00 -14.00 per/hour, based upon experience, performance and attitude. There is potential for an increase in pay, once trained. An employee that develops supervisory skills will be considered for such a position with a commensurate increase in earnings.  A delivery driver will earn a base pay of $14.00 per hour with fuel paid per milage.

All categories of employees will receive the appropriate training with a focus upon safety. Employee’s must be able to safely lift 50+ pounds as needed.  Prior to any hire, there will be an interview in which each potential employee is met directly. Please note, in addition to English as the primary language, Adam also speaks Spanish at a bilingual proficiency.

Should you have any questions, and/or further information is needed,  please don’t hesitate to contact me directly.  My contact information is below.

Thank you,

Debbie

Stanford Testing INFO

BJU Press has offered the Stanford 10 achievement test for years. However, due to the test’s scoring software being discontinued, the Stanford test will no longer be available after April 15, 2022. Additionally, you will not be able to schedule Stanford testing after May 10, 2022. (This refers to the paper test CBCCA has administered, not the online version. )

With that information at hand, CBC will NO LONGER offer an in-person test administration of the Stanford. However, the option remains to take the Stanford online, at home, which many of you are already doing. INFO HERE: https://www.setontesting.com/product/stanford-10-online/

Please let me know if you have any questions. As a reminder, CBCCA also accepts the IOWA , PASS, SAT, and ACT tests.

The Scarlet Pimpernel Musical

“The Scarlet Pimpernel” is an original, full-scale musical about a swashbuckling (but very unsuspecting) hero whose mission is to rescue innocent aristocrats from the guillotine during the French Revolution. It’s a wonderful and exciting production for older kids and adults that will have you thinking about “the price of freedom” in a whole new way. We do have a recommended age limit of 6+ due to a scene involving a beheading. The production will be showing Friday nights at 7:00 and Saturday afternoons at 2:00 from April 8th-30th. Group rates (for a group of 20 or more) are $22.50 each, saving everyone $10 per ticket! Tickets are going quickly, but I would be more than happy to set up a group of seats with the discount for anyone who is interested!

The production will be showing at the Logos Theatre, 80 School Street, Taylors, SC 29687. Parking is available at the theatre. For any questions, please call us at 864-268-9342.
