Please help this homeschooling family seeking to adopt before the oldest child ages out of system …

From Charlotte Cushman –

Timing is critical for this adoption before one of these orphans ages out of the system… .won’t you please watch this video about my friends the Ruppels? They are seeking to adopt three orphans – two that are deaf…. this is what makes a difference for Christ….

Not everyone can go to another country and do this… but we can all pray and HELP. Right now they have the opportunity to have every dollar up to $2500.00 matched that is donated for their travel expenses. I am giving… won’t you?

Sell your books!

Would you like to sell your used curriculum and books at the Book Blast?

http://checonference.com/book-blast-used-curriculum/book-blast-seller-instructions/

The BOOK Blast is a non-profit, volunteer used curriculum sale held in conjunction with the Coastal Home Educators Conference at Community Bible Church in Beaufort, SC. It is undertaken each year as a ministry to the coastal homeschooling community.

You do not need to be a member of Community Bible Church or of CBCCA in order to be a BOOK Blast participant. However, there is an additional 10% processing fee for all non-CBCCA members.

Whether you wish to buy or sell, each participant must register for the conference.

This includes entry into Friday and Saturday’s CHEC including the BOOK Blast, Vendor Hall, Keynote  and all workshops. We hope that you will choose this year to go to our informative workshops and be encouraged by fellow homeschoolers in addition to getting great deals on curriculum!

The BOOK Blast runs from 9:00 – 12:00 am Friday and Saturday.

How Do I Become a Seller?

After you register for the conference you can click here to register as a seller. You are not required to register for the conference in order to start entering your items online, but you will not be an official seller until you have registered for the conference.

What Can I Sell at CHEC?

Our focus is on curriculum, curriculum, curriculum. In addition, readers of all kinds, math manipulatives, science stuff and educational supplemental materials are a must! Bibles, devotionals and educational aids are also welcome.

Keep in mind this not a yard sale, but a place to sell the kinds of things YOU will be looking for to use in your own homeschool next year!

At CHEC our mission is to encourage all homeschoolers, but keep in mind we are a Christian homeschooling group. We will not be able to sell items that conflict with our Christian values. Please use discretion.

What are the Selling Instructions?

After you are registered as a seller, books and materials must be properly labeled. We have two methods for labeling items:

Bar Coding Labeling

This system enables sellers to easily track sales. It also streamlines the sale for buyers and sellers. Added bonus? You will get your money back much more quickly!

CHEC Book Blast Instructions 2013

Don’t have time to barcode? Sheryl Duffy is available to label your books. Click here for more information.

Manual Labeling

You may also manually label your books. There is an additional 10% processing fee for using the manual system. If you are also a non-CBCCA member there is a cap on the processing fee so you will not be charged an additional 10% fee.

When do I drop off my books?

Wednesday June 12th – from 4:30 pm – 8:00 pm

Thursday June 13th – from 9:00 am – 7:00 pm

Where do I drop off my books?

  • You must use the FRONT ENTRANCE of the CBC Children’s Building that faces Parris Island Gateway. We will have signs directing you.
  • Do not enter through the back of the building or the Atrium, as we will not carry books up to the BOOK Blast Area for you.

What do I need to bring with me to the book drop off?

  • Properly labeled books.
  • If you are bar-coding – your inventory list.
  • You should be already registered for CHEC 2013. If not you are not registered, you will need to fill out a registration form, and pay the registration fee before you can drop off your books.

What happens to my books after the sale?

Items not picked up by Saturday at 2:30 will be donated to CHEC.

What if I have stuff I want to give away?

We have a area for free items in the Atrium located between the Children’s Building and the Main Building. Please DO NOT drop off free items in the BOOK Blast area. You can drop off items in the Atrium anytime during BOOK Blast drop off times or during the conference until Saturday morning at 10:00 am.

From Charlotte Cushman personally –

I met Curtis and Jenny Bostic in January, after Curtis personally contacted me about talking to some of the homeschoolers here in Beaufort County.  They have five children and have homeschooled for fifteen years. I have been enthusiastically supporting his campaign here ever since! I am convinced that our district needs a leader who is well-spoken has moral courage and the ability to do the right thing under pressure. As you may have noticed, we have run a very positive campaign. Our goal is to glorify the Lord in the election and we ask that you would help us by supporting Curtis!

Curtis is a believer who has a heart for the Lord. He is an elder at Charleston Bible Church http://www.charlestonharborbiblechurch.org/ and on the board at the Lowcountry Biblical Counseling Center http://www.lcbcc.org/cms/, as well as the founder and director of Remember, a non-profit organization which currently provides aid in six of the most oppressive countries in the world and operates two orphanages in Burma.

He is unashamedly pro life, he believes that the Declaration and the 5th Amendment to the United States Constitution clearly give the federal government the authority and the duty to protect the most defenseless among us…the unborn.

Another important thing about Curtis is that he served in the Marine Corps and served in combat during Operation Desert Storm.  We desperately need more people with this experience as the number of veterans serving in congress continues  to decline…from 80% in 1977 down to 19 % of members in congress today .

Curtis believes that the answer to our nation’s problems is to return to the safe harbor of the United States Constitution and the limited government. He believes that our spending is a huge problem and the cure is a return to powers authorized for spending under Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution.

He is a small business owner, a lawyer and served on Charleston County Council for eight years. While he was there Charleston did not experience a single tax increase and Charleston County enjoyed a balanced budget every year.

I would love it if you would please go to his website stopspending.com and check him out for yourself.

You can find a facebook page dedicated to his Beaufort County campaign here: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaufort-for-Bostic/466898493359615

I would be so honored if you will stand with me tomorrow and vote for this godly man.
