Woman’s Life Registration is going great! Need a few more FitKidz helpers!

From Evelyn –fitkidz logo

Hey CBC Moms,

We have all teachers and assistants for our KidsLife classes. I would like to see a few more moms volunteer to help Charlotte Cushman with the FitKidz program. We could use a couple more at each hour. If you volunteer, you can still attend either the teaching or the Titus group time.

Thanks for your consideration,
Evelyn Owens

2015-2016 Beaufort County Schools Sports

Beaufort County School Sports Information

Because of the  Amended Charter School Act Provision, homeschooled, charter and Governor School students may participate in extracurricular activities in their school district. Not every student will want to take advantage of this program, but we are grateful that homeschooled students now have this opportunity. Many CBCCA students participated last year and had a great experience. We hope that our homeschooled students will be both a blessing and an asset to the local schools’ athletic programs.

Football, swimming, volleyball, competitive cheerleading, girls tennis, girls golf and cross country usually have a first practice date in August.  According to the  Homeschool Eligibility Request Process you need to submit your request to the district Request(s) received at the District Educational Service Center from the parent/guardian ten (10) days prior to tryouts/practice of a requested sport. Application serves as notice of a student’s intent to participate. The district is requiring that this information is turned in (10) ten days before the first practice in order to confirm each student’s eligibility.

Contact the school that you wish to participate in to get dates and details on the season. Below are the tentative start dates to get you started.

Are you interested in having your student swim for the Tigersharks? The YMCA is guaging interest for a homeschool friendly practice time for the Tigersharks.

Nothing develops the skill of swimming like swim team. The Cushman kids have been participating on the Tigersharks since I started homeschooling in 2000. This has been a wonderful thing for our family.

The time slot will be Mondays, Wednesday, Fridays from 1-2 and will focus on fitness and swim team fundamentals. This is a perfect fit for PE for your homeschool.
