Update on Possible Chemistry Class for Next Year

Couple of changes from the last post, because I sent the note from LAST YEARS Query instead of updated info. Charlotte Cushman chemistry

UPDATED for 2014-

I would like to offer a Chemistry Class again this year. The time and day of the week may be different than this past year because of scheduling with my work.

The cost for the class is not yet determined. It may be different from last year.

I would need at least 6 in the class for it to work for me, so please email me and let me know if you are interested for the upcoming school year.

I will decide by July whether there is enough interest to do a class.

I will send out detailed information about the class to those that respond.

Thanks

Official Transcripts

As the end of the school year approaches, I get many requests for official transcripts. Due to Pastor Carl’s schedule and the general “busyness” of this time of year, please allow 7 days turn around time for all official transcript requests!
Thanks for your help in this!

Civil Air Patrol – United States Air Force Auxiliary

From Gay McNair:

Event: Information & Applications for a New Civil Air Patrol Beaufort Composite Squadron
Location: Battery Creek High School Aerospace Education Department
Date: Thursday, 26 September 2013
Time: 5:30 pm – 7:00

Beaufort CAP interest Flier

The purpose of this meeting is to gain information on helping us stand up a LOCAL

Civil Air Patrol Beaufort Composite Squadron, We need your help in doing this!

The meeting will share WHAT Civil Air Patrol is and what your child(ren), ages 12 and up,

can gain from this amazing program….

The benefits are unmeasurable.

-Three primary mission areas are: aerospace education, cadet programs, and emergency services.

-Character training

-The ability to enlist, into any branch of the military, with advanced E-3 placement (upon completion of specific C.A.P. rank)

-Scholarship possibilities, focused on the Military Academies

-Flight hours

-Physical training

-Drill

-so much more…

Your child will get out of C.A.P. what they are willing to invest into the program so it is a move

at their pace program that encourages your child to push themselves to a higher level. This

program is a United States Air Force program that encourages your children to enter ANY branch of

the military, not just the Air Force. So please, do not let that hinder your Marine/Navy/Army mind sets. Use this

Air Force sponsored tool to achieve your aviation goals!

Aviation is a HUGE part of our community!

The field of aviation is growing leaps and bounds here in Beaufort.

We are blessed to have several individuals that are willing to volunteer their time to come along side our children, to

educate them in this amazing field.

Aviation has MANY job opportunities, not just flying, but

ground teams, mechanical, engineering, electronics… the list is long! Come join us to find out

if aviation is something your child(ren) have an interest in. Parents, give your children the tools

they need to succeed in aviation education!

We would love to answer any questions you may have about C.A.P. so please

mark your calendars for this Thursday night and join us for this informative meeting!

Above is the link to Civil Air Patrol for you to look around at the history and purpose of such

a wonderful program. We ask that if you want to join C.A.P. that you contact one of us because

we are actively standing up our local squadron and our location will not be updated on the webpage

until we have enough enrollments to make our squadron official.

Please help us get the word out and invite anyone you feel would be interested in Civil Air Patrol!

Dual Enrollment

From Claudia Gay:

Dear parent of a dual enrollment student. If you are enrolling at TCL you DO NOT have to have me sign the form; YOU, the parent are the HS Counselor AND the ECCO coordinator. Miss Cope at TCL was most gracious to clear this up.
Her e-mail reply to me on this is the following:

Thanks for the information.  When you (Claudia) sign the Registration Form and Agreement Form, I have to ask you to send emails about course updates because you are listed as the high school ECCO coordinator/counselor.  Since the parents serve as the counselor, they should sign as the high school ECCO coordinator/counselor on the two forms and then the course updates can come from them.  I just needed to know who serves as the high school counselor.

High School to College

From Tammy Waldron:

For those of you interested in sending your high school student to college, here is some information you might want to check out. Also, when you look at the White House’s College Score Card, keep in mind that if you are in the higher income range, you may end up paying full sticker price for a college education.

USC for Scholastically Talented

From Claudia Gay:

Some great things going on at USC for scholastically talented rising 6th-12th graders. Of particular interest is the Duke TIP program that several of you asked about at the last homeschool meeting. http://saeu.sc.edu/adventures/
