First Tee – Golf

If you look at the schedule there are programs available at Parris Island and Pleasant Point as well. This looks like a great way to accomplish phys ed in your homeschool!

From Mike Davis –

Are you new to The First Tee and junior golf?

At The First Tee, we work with experts in a variety of fields to deliver junior golf programs that are proven to have a positive influence on kids and teens. Each lesson is designed to be fun, interactive and engaging. Our coaches follow a philosophy centered on positively reinforcing your child’s actions and ensuring a great experience.
The First Tee coaches seamlessly weave golf and character building activities into each lesson. As your child progresses through The First Tee’s programs, the activities and life lessons become more involved, helping your child build character and become even more equipped to make good choices on and off the golf course.

Job(s) Available

FROM GAYE MCNAIR;

Lowcountry Produce restaurants in Lobeco, downtown Beaufort, and on Hilton Head are looking for employees asap. They need waiters/waitresses, kitchen help, dishwashers. (Some positions are for as young as 15. )They contacted me because they have LOVED the Christian homeschoolers who have worked for them. They are hoping some of our young people might be looking to earn money for mission trips, or employment experience. The note below is from Campbell Thorpe. His contact info is campbell@lowcountry.com. While this is not a Christian business per se, it has been a good employer of my daughter, Frances. The downtown restaurant does sell alcohol on their menu, but Campbell said our young people wouldn’t have to literally serve it. He added they don’t sell it at Lobeco or Hilton Head restaurants. The following is from him:

Gaye, we are not only looking for young people, anyone who has availability of 2, 3 or 4 hrs a few days a week can also be used for preparing salads or doing prep work for the kitchen staff. In this scenario, the prep person would report at 2:00 or 3:00 and leave at 4:00, 5:00 or 6:00depending on consistent availability a few days a week. This would be for BFT or the Farmstand. Hilton Head is larger and the person could report almost anytime that fits their schedule as long as it a consistent availability over several months. The keys are a good attitude, willingness to learn, following a recipe and measuring ingredients, being on time and cleanliness. We can teach the rest. Thank you!

Hey Friends,
We would love to have a “petting zoo” at the Easter Eggstravaganza this year. If anyone has animals and would be willing to bring a few I know the children would be so excited.
If you are interested and available to help in this way please call (843-521-0626) or email us.

Campbell Soup Labels

The Campbell Soup Labels Program is ending…

Here is the official announcement:
In the past few years participation in Labels for Education® has declined and as a result, Campbell has come to the very difficult decision to wind down the LFE program. The good news is nothing changes this program year. There will be changes for next year’s program starting August 1, 2016. We will continue to support American kids through our Grand Stand for SchoolsSM sweepstakes and our community efforts which we annually contribute $70 million in food and funding to tackle obesity and hunger amongst our country’s most vulnerable families.

What does this mean for CBCCA? We need to find every Campbell Soup label and get them submitted prior to the end of the school year in May. All rewards remain the same through the end of this school year. Please search your cabinets, your neighbors cabinets and any one who will allow you to remove just the small portion of the label that we need. There is a box located in the resource room of the children’s building to turn in your Campbell Soup labels and Box Tops.

Please note – THIS DOES NOT AFFECT BOX TOPS – ONLY CAMPBELL SOUP LABELS.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Best Regards,
Katrina Sheffield
