Did you know that SCHEA offers Rho Gamma Chapter of Eta Sigma Alpha the state-wide chapter of the National Home School Honor Society for those students who do not have a local chapter? Deadline for enrollment is coming up, so check the website http://www.SCHEA.net under high school for information.
The South Carolina Park Service is commemorating the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Rivers Bridge by presenting seven Civil War oriented programs between October 18, 2014 and April 28, 2015. An Evening with Emile Pandolfi WBJU IQ Radio would like to invite you to join them for an evening of music and laughter with one of their featured artists–world renowned pianist Emile Pandolfi, on Friday, October 17 at 8pm in Rodeheaver Auditorium. Tickets are still available at bju.edu/tickets and at the Rodeheaver Auditorium box office M-F 12pm-5pm. General admission is $20.
I would like to invite you to visit our new website (www.betaclub.org) and once registered your students would have the opportunity to join us at the South Carolina State Jr. Beta Convention in January. Registration deadline is December 12, 2014. There are numerous academic, artistic and talent contest that your home school student would be able to compete in. No other student organization provides your students with the chance to apply for 300,000 dollars in scholarships.

*PSAT REMINDER*
The testing date for the PSAT is this Wednesday, Oct. 15th. If you have not registered, you will need to call the local high schools to see if there is a test slot still available. Taken in the junior year, the PSAT might qualify your student for the National Merit Scholarship Program. The PSAT might also qualify your student for the Duke TIP program if taken in the 7th grade. Ministry Benefit for East Africa – October 17th – Book Signing
We are hosting a evening event at our home where Gloria Singleton will be signing her newest book, Divine Musings. John and I have laughed, cried and enjoyed this book together so much as we have been reading our way through it. Her insight and ability to pull the scriptures into her writings are great!
We will be receiving part of the proceeds from the book to benefit the ministry in East Africa. We will also have available many art pieces from a local Ugandan artist for sale as well as much African jewelry and a few Rwandan baskets. All the profits from the baskets go to “Bible for Africa”, a project to get bibles into the hands of pastors and their parishioners in Africa.

If you don’t know her yet, I hope you will come out and meet her and preview or buy her book. We will have light refreshments. Mark the date – October 17th, Friday night from 7- 830, drop in anytime.
