Sell your books!

Would you like to sell your used curriculum and books at the Book Blast?

http://checonference.com/book-blast-used-curriculum/book-blast-seller-instructions/

The BOOK Blast is a non-profit, volunteer used curriculum sale held in conjunction with the Coastal Home Educators Conference at Community Bible Church in Beaufort, SC. It is undertaken each year as a ministry to the coastal homeschooling community.

You do not need to be a member of Community Bible Church or of CBCCA in order to be a BOOK Blast participant. However, there is an additional 10% processing fee for all non-CBCCA members.

Whether you wish to buy or sell, each participant must register for the conference.

This includes entry into Friday and Saturday’s CHEC including the BOOK Blast, Vendor Hall, Keynote  and all workshops. We hope that you will choose this year to go to our informative workshops and be encouraged by fellow homeschoolers in addition to getting great deals on curriculum!

The BOOK Blast runs from 9:00 – 12:00 am Friday and Saturday.

How Do I Become a Seller?

After you register for the conference you can click here to register as a seller. You are not required to register for the conference in order to start entering your items online, but you will not be an official seller until you have registered for the conference.

What Can I Sell at CHEC?

Our focus is on curriculum, curriculum, curriculum. In addition, readers of all kinds, math manipulatives, science stuff and educational supplemental materials are a must! Bibles, devotionals and educational aids are also welcome.

Keep in mind this not a yard sale, but a place to sell the kinds of things YOU will be looking for to use in your own homeschool next year!

At CHEC our mission is to encourage all homeschoolers, but keep in mind we are a Christian homeschooling group. We will not be able to sell items that conflict with our Christian values. Please use discretion.

What are the Selling Instructions?

After you are registered as a seller, books and materials must be properly labeled. We have two methods for labeling items:

Bar Coding Labeling

This system enables sellers to easily track sales. It also streamlines the sale for buyers and sellers. Added bonus? You will get your money back much more quickly!

CHEC Book Blast Instructions 2013

Don’t have time to barcode? Sheryl Duffy is available to label your books. Click here for more information.

Manual Labeling

You may also manually label your books. There is an additional 10% processing fee for using the manual system. If you are also a non-CBCCA member there is a cap on the processing fee so you will not be charged an additional 10% fee.

When do I drop off my books?

Wednesday June 12th – from 4:30 pm – 8:00 pm

Thursday June 13th – from 9:00 am – 7:00 pm

Where do I drop off my books?

  • You must use the FRONT ENTRANCE of the CBC Children’s Building that faces Parris Island Gateway. We will have signs directing you.
  • Do not enter through the back of the building or the Atrium, as we will not carry books up to the BOOK Blast Area for you.

What do I need to bring with me to the book drop off?

  • Properly labeled books.
  • If you are bar-coding – your inventory list.
  • You should be already registered for CHEC 2013. If not you are not registered, you will need to fill out a registration form, and pay the registration fee before you can drop off your books.
  • Self-Addressed, stamped envelope to the sale so that we can mail you your check.

What happens to my books after the sale?

On Saturday from 1:30 – 2:30 pm you must come pick up your unsold books.

We have no place to store unsold books. Make arrangements with a friend or come yourself to get your unsold books. It will be your responsibility to check and see if you have books left over.

** Veteran tip! Many sellers will share this responsibility with another seller. One will drop off books and the other will stay and pick up. However you choose to it, you must make sure you make arrangements to pick up your books.

Items not picked up by Saturday at 2:30 will be donated to CHEC.

What if I have stuff I want to give away?

We have a area for free items in the Atrium located between the Children’s Building and the Main Building. Please DO NOT drop off free items in the BOOK Blast area. You can drop off items in the Atrium anytime during BOOK Blast drop off times or during the conference until Saturday morning at 10:00 am.

GSSM’s iTEAMS camp in Beaufort County

Hello!  As a GSSM parent in Beaufort County, I wanted to share with you a unique opportunity that GSSM is bringing to Beaufort County this summer.  Innovation, Technology & Entrepreneurship Among Middle Schoolers, better known as iTEAMS, is a day camp for rising 7th and 8th graders that inspires students to pursue careers in the fields of computer science, technology and entrepreneurship through hands-on, team-based projects.  Working cooperatively and using technology to solve problems, students explore fields like gaming, app development and cyber security.

iTEAMS will be held June 24 – 27 at Robert Smalls Middle School in Beaufort.  The camp is completely free to students!  We still have spots in the camp, so please pass this information along to any parents of middle schoolers you know.  Interested students can apply online at http://www.scgssm.org/programs-camps/iteams/iteams-student-application.

Additionally, we are looking for college-age students to serve as teaching assistants at the camp.  This is a paid position, and while anyone can apply, preference will be given to GSSM graduates.  If you know someone who might be interested in applying, they can access the TA application at http://www.scgssm.org/programs-camps/iteams/iteams-gssm-alumni-ta-application.

If you have any questions about iTEAMS, please contact Brigitte Barnett, iTEAMS Camp Coordinator and GSSM Director of Recruitment, at brigitte@scgssm.org or 803-201-9168, or Sonja Taylor, iTEAMS Camp Coordinator and GSSM Diversity Recruitment Manager, atsonja@scgssm.org or 803-252-9152.

Thanks!

LOWCOUNTRY BIBLICAL COUNSELING CENTER FELLOWSHIP DINNER

From Tim Bryant:

Here is a sneak peek at some of the testimonies you will hear at our 10 Anniversary Celebration this Saturday.  I hope you won’t miss out and will register today, if you have not (and anyone other guests).  We are only 30 registrants away from our goal of 600.  Help us cross the finish line and ignite a passion for the power of God’s Word to restore lives.

Today is the last day you can register.

CLICK HERE FOR MORE DETAILS OR TO REGISTER

Your brother,

Tim Bryant

TESTIMONY #1 – “I had some private addictions that had hurt my wife repeatedly for years.  I had tried and tried but could not break free.  Finally, I lost control to my sin and made a bad decision that cost me my job.   My wife was devastated.  Through Biblical Counseling my eyes became open to how practical the Word was as the Spirit began to persuade me to repent and change my heart.  For the first time I had a power to choose to think Truth in temptation!  God’s Word has now so replaced my addictions that when my 4 year-old son pretends to be “Dad” he now bows his head and starts reciting little scriptures he has heard me praying.   Apart from LCBCC teaching me how to use Christ’s Word in my battle against sin, there would be no restored life or marriage.”  (Hope to see you Saturday, April 27)

TESTIMONY #2 – “Last year my depression had become more and more dark, and panic attacks had become more and more frequent. God was using suffering to teach me to trust in His control and His promises, to increase my faith, to give up my anger, to be more disciplined in meditating on His thoughts not mine, to give up my desire to be a super mom and wife,…” Come and hear more of this testimony this Saturday – 10 Years of Restored Lives.

TESTIMONY #3 – “I had anger undealt with and unforgiveness in my heart mixed with an enormous pride. I would listen to no one. It led to explosive and destructive behavior. I ended up losing the most precious gifts to me – my wife and son. God broke me. Through Biblical Counseling I have been restored to God and my wife and son. If God is willing to help and change me, I know he will do the same for you.” Come and hear more of this testimony this Saturday – 10 Years of Restored Lives.

LAST YEAR’S TESTIMONY VIDEO
Here is the video link from last year’s dinner to give you an example of what you can expect more of at this year’s 10 year celebration. Today will be the last day you can register. Hope you can come and be renewed in biblical hope. https://vimeo.com/46113114#at=0
