Tutoring Available

I am offering  tutoring in reading, spelling, literature, grammar and writing.  I would like to work mainly with 1st- 12th grade.  I have a BA Degree from Clemson University in Education/English. I have been homeschooling for 14 years and I taught professionally for 3 years in a private Christian school.  Please call me for available times and fees. Thanks! I hope I can help a few frustrated moms get their children over the hump and start excelling in reading and other language skills! Pass the word for me to friends who may not be a part of this email loop.

Accomodations needed

We get ALL kinds of phone calls at the office! If anyone has the gift of hospitality and discernment maybe you are interested! Below is the e-mail I received from Eve who is looking for a couple of nights (14th & 15th)  accommodations while her son graduates from boot camp next week. I did speak with her and she sounded very nice HOWEVER I do not know this lady, I told her I would “throw it out there” and see what might turn up. FYI: I did not include the resume. I do have her number should you be interested.

Good afternoon Claudia,

I looked you up on the church website after we talked—I hope that is ok. Here is my resume…just a quick condensed mini version of me (as I mentioned, I am job searching right now).

I know God is with us through all of our adventures…so we’ll see how this adventure turns out.

Thank you for listening and being open to this request.  If you need any more info, character references etc-please let me know! I have reservations at the Detreville house now but it’s $85 a night that I really just don’t have right now.  I would need to cancel the reservations by Monday sometime… if someone might host me.

My kids, even my Marine son, James—were all involved in AWANA, Scouts and service opportunities through our church-Immanuel Bible Church.  James went on two mission trips to Guatemala and one to inner city DC with the youth group. He is a great kid who I was proud of BEFORE he went to boot camp to become a Marine.

Again, I will be out at family activities Wed and Thurs and have to be on base early Friday am and will leave to drive back to VA directly from graduation so I really just need a safe place to sleep and shower if there might be some kind person to open their home to me.

Tutoring available

From Debi Gant:  I am available for tutoring students during the spring semester.  I can tutor any subjects for elementary; language arts, history, science, study skills for middle school; language arts, history, social studies, study skills for high school.  I also have government and economics curriculum for high school. I charge $30.00 per hour.

If anyone is interested in a creative writing seminar for your students of any grade, let me know. I use to teach them when my daughter was in elementary school and can give references from parents whose children took my course.  It is 10 weeks, one 2 hour session per week in a class format. $50 per student.  No textbook needed.; only pencil, paper, folder with brads and a composition book.

Email me your phone number if you want to discuss specifics about any of these. sweetcarolinesmom92@gmail.com

High School Transcripts

Thanks to all who already sent in transcripts! One thing I failed to mention is that your transcript needs to include the following information: “GPA computed according to the SC uniform grading scale.” Yes, this seems to be a new requirement; I had to re-do several transcripts for admissions offices this past year.

Thanks for the help with this; you do not need to re-send a corrected transcript unless you need me to send one out in the very near future.
