Marriage Bible Study

Marriage, the way God intended it to be, is a true art form.

Brian and Kelly McDaniel will host Family Life’s The Art of Marriage DVD and small group study at their home in Early Branch, SC, on Tuesday evenings from 7:30 until 9 p.m beginning March 1-April 5.

The Art of Marriage weaves together biblically-centered teaching, real-life stories, and humorous vignettes to portray both the challenges and the beauty of God’s design. Each session will include a 30-minute DVD presentation by ministry leaders such as Dennis and Barbara Rainey, Voddie Baucham, Russell Moore, Crawford Loritts and others, and covers the following topics:

• Love Happens: God’s Purpose and Plan
• Love Fades: Overcoming Isolation
• Love Dances: Fulfilling Our Responsibilities
• Love Interrupted: Communication and Conflict
• Love Sizzles: Experiencing Real Intimacy
• Love Always: Leaving a Lasting Legacy

No childcare will be provided but infants are welcome. If you would like to join the group, have questions, or need additional information, please contact Brian or Kelly McDaniel at (843) 321-6935 or mcdfamilyx7@gmail.com. We have room for a few more; however, we are limited to 6 couples. You do not have to be a member of CBC to participate.

Art Lessons Available

From Frances Qualls –

Hello all!

I have had a number of moms ask me if I would teach art lessons and how much I’d charge.  I would love to teach!  Since I don’t have a location to teach from, I would have to come to the student. I live in Yemassee, so if someone lives farther than Beaufort (Lady’s Island, Port Royal, etc.) then I may have to charge a little more to make up for driving time and gas.

I plan to charge $20 for an hour lesson, but only $10 for each additional child. There would be costs for some supplies, but nothing crazy. It would depend on what kind of medium your child was interested in working with. In general, I usually keep it to basic/inexpensive mediums for children.  As far as ages go, I am willing to teach any age. I know that maturity varies, but I have found that for more formal lessons, 8 years and up is a good bracket. So, that would be my preferred age group, but I’m willing to adjust!

As most of you know, I graduated from USCB with a degree in studio art.  I can teach basic art skills, drawing, watercolors, oil paint, pastels, etc.  I don’t work with acrylic paint, so I am a little bit out of the loop with that particular medium.  I have also taken many art history courses and can focus on incorporating different artists from history into lessons.   I have taught a few lessons for kids and have also given some demos for classes.  I’m still new to teaching, but I really do love it! I don’t work on Mondays orWednesday, so I am hoping to give lessons on those days.

If anyone is interested, please email me at mcnair.frances@gmail.com and let me know who wants to take lessons, their ages and what they are interested in learning. This way, I can prepare lessons and also come up with a supply list. Thank you and Happy New Year!!!

Homeschool Swim Team Changes Times to add New Swimmers!

Would you like your beginning swimmer to really improve their skills? tigershark

Try out the homeschool swim team at the Beaufort YMCA!

There is nothing like the swim team to turn your tentative swimmer into a confident swimmer!

Practice has been changed to 3 pm to accommodate school times and nap times! Practices are Monday, Wednesday and Fridays.

Cost is $50.00 per month and includes a very small group (5-7 swimmers) with lots of one-on-one instruction.

Swimmers from the advanced Tigershark (BYAC) help with practice giving the young students a goal to work toward.

In order to make this team happen, we need 5-7 swimmers to sign on. Please contact Eliana Johnson as soon as possible at em_johnson2@yahoo.com if you are interested.
