Civil Air Patrol – United States Air Force Auxiliary
From Gay McNair:
Event: Information & Applications for a New Civil Air Patrol Beaufort Composite Squadron
Location: Battery Creek High School Aerospace Education Department
Date: Thursday, 26 September 2013
Time: 5:30 pm – 7:00
The purpose of this meeting is to gain information on helping us stand up a LOCAL
Civil Air Patrol Beaufort Composite Squadron, We need your help in doing this!
The meeting will share WHAT Civil Air Patrol is and what your child(ren), ages 12 and up,
can gain from this amazing program….
The benefits are unmeasurable.
-Three primary mission areas are: aerospace education, cadet programs, and emergency services.
-Character training
-The ability to enlist, into any branch of the military, with advanced E-3 placement (upon completion of specific C.A.P. rank)
-Scholarship possibilities, focused on the Military Academies
-Flight hours
-Physical training
-Drill
-so much more…
Your child will get out of C.A.P. what they are willing to invest into the program so it is a move
at their pace program that encourages your child to push themselves to a higher level. This
program is a United States Air Force program that encourages your children to enter ANY branch of
the military, not just the Air Force. So please, do not let that hinder your Marine/Navy/Army mind sets. Use this
Air Force sponsored tool to achieve your aviation goals!
Aviation is a HUGE part of our community!
The field of aviation is growing leaps and bounds here in Beaufort.
We are blessed to have several individuals that are willing to volunteer their time to come along side our children, to
educate them in this amazing field.
Aviation has MANY job opportunities, not just flying, but
ground teams, mechanical, engineering, electronics… the list is long! Come join us to find out
if aviation is something your child(ren) have an interest in. Parents, give your children the tools
they need to succeed in aviation education!
We would love to answer any questions you may have about C.A.P. so please
mark your calendars for this Thursday night and join us for this informative meeting!

Above is the link to Civil Air Patrol for you to look around at the history and purpose of such
a wonderful program. We ask that if you want to join C.A.P. that you contact one of us because
we are actively standing up our local squadron and our location will not be updated on the webpage
until we have enough enrollments to make our squadron official.
Please help us get the word out and invite anyone you feel would be interested in Civil Air Patrol!
THANK YOU,

KidsLife at Community Bible Church
From Evelyn Owens:
KidsLife at Community Bible Church begins Wed. Sept. 11.
Moms can register their children on-line (should be available next week) or at church. All children must be registered before attending classes.
Presidential, art, geography/missionary study, S.C. History, Apologia General Science, Local Missions study (guests speakers will come to class to share with the children about the various missions Community Bible Church supports and kids will have an opportunity to contribute in some way to these ministries) classes will all be held during each meeting.
We have all of the teachers and several assistants in place but are in need of 6 adults to assist for one half of the morning. Time slots open are 9:45-11:00 and 11:00-12:15. As most of you know we have a 2-adult policy for all classes so we appreciate your willingness to help us offer an excellent program for your kids. If you can help for one-half of the morning, contact Evelyn.
Beginning this year, teens who wish to assist at Presidential need to fill out an application which can be picked up in the children’s building. Please speak with Mr. or Mrs. Owens so we will know everyone’s intent and place of service while attending KidsLife.
Feel free to e-mail us with any questions or concerns.
Thanks,
Evelyn Owens
