Presidential Physical Fitness Program
From Katie Guthrie:
Sign your children up for the Presidential Program!
Forms are in the Atrium. All permission forms must be turned into Evelyn or Randy Owens before Presidential begins on September 11.
KidsLife at Community Bible Church
From Evelyn Owens:
KidsLife at Community Bible Church begins Wed. Sept. 11.
Moms can register their children on-line (should be available next week) or at church. All children must be registered before attending classes.
Presidential, art, geography/missionary study, S.C. History, Apologia General Science, Local Missions study (guests speakers will come to class to share with the children about the various missions Community Bible Church supports and kids will have an opportunity to contribute in some way to these ministries) classes will all be held during each meeting.
We have all of the teachers and several assistants in place but are in need of 6 adults to assist for one half of the morning. Time slots open are 9:45-11:00 and 11:00-12:15. As most of you know we have a 2-adult policy for all classes so we appreciate your willingness to help us offer an excellent program for your kids. If you can help for one-half of the morning, contact Evelyn.
Beginning this year, teens who wish to assist at Presidential need to fill out an application which can be picked up in the children’s building. Please speak with Mr. or Mrs. Owens so we will know everyone’s intent and place of service while attending KidsLife.
Feel free to e-mail us with any questions or concerns.
Thanks,
Evelyn Owens
Presidential 2013/14
From Terry Beach:
I am still looking for help with Presidential Physical Fitness Challenge for this coming year. We have between 60 – 80 kids that attend our program each time we meet. In order to have a program and run smoothly I will need help from moms and older teens each time we meet. Please let me know if you are willing to help this year.
Does your student want to play fall sports with a local school?
Because of the Amended Charter School Act Provision, homeschooled, charter and Governor School students may participate in extracurricular activities in their school district.
Not every student will want to take advantage of this program, but we are grateful that homeschooled students now have this opportunity. Many CBCCA students participated last year and had a great experience. We hope that our homeschooled students will be both a blessing and an asset to the local schools’ athletic programs.
Please click here to read how the law affects homeschoolers.
Football, swimming, volleyball, competitive cheerleading, girls tennis, girls golf and cross country all have a first practice date of August 2nd.
According to the Homeschool Eligibility Request Process you need to submit your request to the district Request(s) received at the District Educational Service Center from the parent/guardian ten (10) days prior to tryouts/practice of a requested sport. Application serves as notice of a student’s intent to participate.
